You must have heard about India for being Cultural and Colorful. India is full of diversified cultures and a rich history. India is a land where living life is more fun than any other part of the world. In India, we have a lot of Festivals, that brings prosperity among individuals also gives a chance to enjoy moments. Here are the Top Festivals in India a Foreigner must experience: –

    1. Festivals in India: Pongal

      Pongal is a major festival in South India. It is celebrated 4 days, as a Harvesting Festival of Tamils in India. Pongal comes on 14th January each year. Indians do cook delicious stuff on this day, shares sweets, dance and Enjoy. I guess every Foreigner must visit Pongal in India.

    2. Holi

      Holi Festival in India for Foreigner
      First of all, I guess you already know about Holi. Almost all the foreigners know about Holi before landing. You will throw waters on your mates, put colors on mates faces, can eat stuffs like Pakode. Enjoyment in this Festival in 100% real.

    3. Diwali (Deepawali)

      Diwali is one of the most popular festivals in India. On this festival, you can eat lots of sweets, of different types and flavours. You can also experience magnificent fireworks in Sky, during Diwali Night. I will give 10/10 to this Festival. Diwali generally comes in October or November.

    4. Christmas

      The population of Christians in India is not very large as compared to religions like – Hinduism and Muslim. Still, There are quite awesome celebrations for Christmas. People throw parties, calls fake Santa Claus, distributes chocolates, candies etc. Christmas here in this country is Amazing too.

    5. Onam

      Onam is a festival which is mostly celebrated in the southern part of India. This Festival celebrated with a heap of Enthusiasm in Kerala. The best part of this festival is the boat race. If you’re a foreigner visiting India and must this Festival in India – My friend you’re having some great loss.

    6. Festivals in India: Bihu Festival

      Bihu festival will help you to experience some Indian village smell and the ‘Desi’ dance. Bihu festival is one of the greatest festivals of Northeast India. There are 3 Bihu Festivals in one year – in April, in January and October. Folk songs and Dance in Bihu Festival is really mesmerizing.

    7. Ganesh Chaturthi

      It is a 10-day festival but the major celebrations are done on the last day of this festival. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated very popularly in Mumbai, so if you’re in Mumbai ever, during the time of Ganesh Chaturthi – Don’t forget to enjoy Ganesh Chaturthi. Ganesh Chaturthi festival generally come in September/October.

The Legends says it doesn’t matter which religion you belong to – when you want to be happy. Another Major Festival of India is Eid, On EId you can learn more about Muslim culture. On Eid, you can eat varieties of tasty food items. You will also learn about Muslim brotherhood during Eid.

9. Navratri

Navratri is a 9 day long Festival in India, celebrated across the whole country. According to Hinduism, 9 Goddesses are worshipped in 9 days of Navratri. You will watch some unmatchable faith and awesome dance during Navratri.

10. Lohri

Festivals in India a foreigner must experience

Lohri is celebrated on 13th January during winters in India. Mostly Hindu and Sikh people Celebrate Lohri in Northern India.  You can enjoy some Punjabi Bhangra dance with some sweet snacks around a bonfire in Lohri.
