Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Rishikesh
Your Visit to Rishikesh is incomplete without Ganga Aarti. The Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan Ashram is a treat to the eyes. Usually, at 5-6 pm, people gather at the ashram which is known for the mammoth Shiva sculpture meditating at the banks of the Ganges. The priests clad in their Bhagwa dresses and bearing lamps sing in reverberating sounds. The rhythm that blows through the air is a sizzling experience. The heart thumps loudly with goosebumps runs through each and every vein. The chants are music to the ears and leave you in the holy trip of divinity. The Aarti nourishes the mind, and one feels rejuvenated. The evening walks on the ‘Aastha path’ with river Ganga flowing alongside adds to the beauty of the Parmarth Niketan.
It is a traditional belief that one gets cleansed of his sins with a dip in the holy water of the Ganges. Regardless of the belief, it gives ineffable pleasure to bathe in the chilling water and come out feeling refreshed.
Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula
The other attractions include the Laxman Jhula and the Ram Jhula, the moving bridges. They are also an abode to many foreign tourists who stay here for yoga and meditation. One can get lost in the beauty of the sunrise at the Laxman Jhula. The sunset is no less beautiful.
